Ty Patton joined TWG in 2025 as a member of the firm’s Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Business & Corporate law practice groups. A Kansas native, Ty was born in Topeka and grew up in Butler County, Kansas. He earned his Bachelor of Science History, cum laude, from Emporia State University in May 2009 and obtained his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Washburn University School of Law in December 2011. Ty is also a proud 2016 graduate of the World Wide College of Auctioneering.
Ty has extensive experience with mergers & acquisitions, corporate legal issues, and all aspects of the real estate industry. Ty began his career practicing law in Topeka with an emphasis on commercial real estate, secured lending, and creditor’s rights/asset protection. He returned home in 2015 to join McCurdy Real Estate & Auction, LLC as general counsel, auctioneer, and REALTOR. In 2019, Ty was the Kansas Auctioneer Champion at the Kansas Auctioneers Association’s annual bid-calling championship. Following his time at McCurdy, Ty led the real estate and legal team for one of the largest restaurant companies in the country as they grew from 79 to 196 locations in 15 states—managing both acquisitions and new site negotiation and development.
Ty and his wife live in Benton, Kansas. They have 4 children who are all active in youth sports, church groups, and 4-H, so he spends his free time coaching youth football, wrestling, and baseball.
