Rachael has over practiced 25 years in the areas of civil, trust and probate litigation involving adoption and probate matters. She has also practiced in the area of assisted reproductive technology for the past 10 years, representing clients in contract matters and establishing parental rights. Rachael received Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory’s highest “AV” rating for lawyers. She has served as President of the Kansas Bar Association, after serving two terms as District Seven Governor to the KBA Board of Governors. Rachael has chaired the KBA Litigation Section, and has served on the KBA CLE, Nominating, and Fee Dispute committees.
An active member of the Wichita Bar Association, Rachael has served in the areas of Legislative, Public Relations, Probate (Chair), Diversity, Unauthorized Practice of Law, and Nominating Committees. Additionally, Ms. Pirner has been active in the Wichita Women Attorneys Association (WWAA) since she graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law in 1989. She has held all offices of WWAA. She has also served the Kansas Women Attorneys Association as its president, vice president, secretary, regional coordinator, and as a chair of the Public Relations Committee. She received the Louise Maddox Award in 2001 given by the WWAA, which honors persons who have worked to advance opportunities for women in law.
Rachael’s induction into AAAA follows a highly selective process, that requires no less than five years of legal practice, at least 50 adoption or assisted reproductive technology proceedings, a referral for admission by a current AAAA Fellow, and rigorous review for high ethical standards and competency by the Board of Trustees.
The Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA) is a credentialed, non‑profit organization dedicated to the competent and ethical practice of adoption and assisted reproduction law.
